Thanks for looking,

I have compressed an avi file with.....

1)Nokia_Multimedia_Converter_2_0
2)Xilisoft 3gp converter
3)SUPER ver 2006.13

....according to the description as in.....

(for 3220)

I put the "comp01.3gp" in the device emulator's MMC folder
I restart the emulator.
I choose "multimedia msg" >> "create msg" >> "Options" >> "Insert"
I browse to the "Memory Card" and highlight "comp01.3gp" and choose "Open"
I press "Play" on the middle soft button and I see this:

I have altered every setting.
I have downloaded other .3gp files from the net.
I have renamed files to .mp4.
I always get the same result.

Does anybody have a .3gp file that they can watch on their Nokia_S40_DP20_SDK_1_1 that I can try?

Does anybody know why my emulator wont play .3gp files?

PS I have also sent files to a 3220 & the video cannot be viewed there either.
Il probably kick myself when i find out the reason, but I couldnt find any posts with a similar problem,so I guess Im in a league of my own;)

Hi! Is this thread still alive?

Anyways, I am also encountering the same problem. I can't seem to find a way to play a 3gp file in an emulator. I have tried several emulators already and they all failed. However, Nokia phones were having no problem playing the 3gp file, but Sony Ericsson s700i failed to do so..

And also, is there any way to invoke the default player of a phone (the player installed on the phone) from a MIDlet suite application??

I havent had much response yet, havent found any answers anywhere else either. Ill post here if I get any info from anywhere else tho.
