How to create transparent bitmap icons for theme Studio? -

I gave up on using vectorial icons with transparencis with this software, I am now trying to just put a normal bitmap icon in there, but the transparency around the icons keeps failing, how can i jut use a normal bitmap icon without the white background?
Or PNG support? Is there a simple way? Thank you.
