Hello

I am just wondering if anybody has managed to get a 7650 to work with the data suite using a Mitsumbi BlueTooth adapter ?
I am running XP and can connect to the phone and can send files up and down using the BT software but mrouter is not seeing my phone even though it is connected.....

Thanks
Simon

Control the Com-Port settings of your Mitsumi USB adapter... These should be equivalent to these of the mRouter

I'm having this problem too.
My phone is a 7650 and I'm using 3COM USB Bluetooth. I'm not able to use Nokia suite to download my 100 over contacts because Nokia Suite only support IR. Any workaround?
Please advise.

Hi there,
I got this problem until few weeks ago but I've found a solution collecting information all

around internet.
The main problem come from bluetooth software provided with MITSUMI Bluetooth USB adapter,

this light suite works fine with standard operations like bt discovery service, pairing,

file transfer, OBEX push, etc. But when you try to establish a "virtual" serial connection

with your doungle the software go down and you cannot use Nokia PC Suite.
So... firstly we need to change software and let it works, the best suite I saw has been

produced by Widcomm provided us by Anycom.
You can download this stuff from here:
http://www.anycom.com/downloads/drivers/USB-100.zip
Before to install the software you have to uninstall (if needed) Mitsumi suite from your

system using Windows uninstaller in Control Panel. Then remove manually the file
"btmtmusb.pnf" or "btmtmusb.inf" which you can find in "c:\windows\inf" (W98/WME) or into
the folder "c:\winnt\inf" (NT/W2K/XP).

Now, you have to open WINZIP load the new suite you have downloaded and extract the content

into a temporarly folder.

You'll see a quite short list of files, open in text-mode a file called "btwusb.inf"
and look for line that containts:
USB_VID_044e&PID_3001
(you should find 2 lines)
change that string with this one:
USB_VID_03EE&PID_641F

Save the file.

Right now, you're ready to install the suite run setup.exe or .msi file, like you prefer.

Finally, we have a Mitsumi Bluetooth adapter works fine with every kind of services,
with Nokia PC suite also.

p.s. I tested all this stuff with WIF-0402C Mitsumi Bluetooth USB Adaptor over a W2K and
with a Nokia 7650 and 3650 phone (and theirs pc data suite).

The following explanation should also apply here. Remember though that only the new 7650 PC Suite 1.20 supports XP. This can be downloaded of the nokia.com website.

I have connected to the 7650 successfully, using the Billionton USB device. It too uses the Widcomm Bluetooth software, so you should really have no problems.

Once you have paired, you should go to the Bluetooth Configuration section and make note of the COM Port listed for "Bluetooth Serial Port" under the "Local Services" section (For example COM 5). Connect to the serial port under your phone's profile, and without closing "My Bluetooth Places", right click the "mRouter" icon, click "Properties", click the box next to the COM Port matching the one you made note of (i.e. COM 5). It should then say "Connected" next to the relavent COM port. Close the "mRouter" and open PC Suite.

Ignore the error message, "The \General connection failed: The remote device closed the connection" and click OK.

When you want to disconnect, go to the "mRouter" properties section and uncheck the COM Port.

It is difficult to explain this all in detail without supporting screen shots, but this should help.

Regards

Cyril
