Nokia 6680 L2CAP connection error -

I am having a problem with an application using L2CAP on a Nokia 6680. The application can receive data from another BT device, but when it tries to send data I am getting a Symbian OS error:
IOException: SymbianOS error = -6311 : General: System error I don't know why, and I can't find out what the error message means. The line of code throwing the error is: conn = (L2CAPConnection)Conector.open(connString); I don't see why this should throw an exception as it just tries to open the connection. The connection string is definitely valid. Has anyone else come across this problem?
