Hi
I tried to download the application to a Nokia 6102 and it said the download file is too large? The application is nearly 87K, I want to know that if in my phone I have down other jar files total about 144k, can I down the application nearly 87K??? Thanks |

dont understand completely, but yes, file may be too large, my 6010 can only deal with 65k jar files, while my 6630, has no problem with 150+k jar files
if its your code, try obfuscating it, which will reduce the code size, thats what i do to get the 130k midlet on a 6010, it comes out to almost 63k after highest obfuscation also, ota has thes limits, and while device may support larger, the carrier may limit usually wired transfers, i.e. using a cable, have no limits, if there are large midlets on their, there probably from manufacturer, in which xcase they were "wired" there Jason Glass http://IChiBanComputers.Com |

I have a 6010 and it claims my file is too large but my JAR file is only 44k! I'm not sure what is going on. It downloads okay on a 3220 and 6030.
Further, the browser cache seems difficult to clear: I change the content of my page where I go to to download my J2ME apps to make sure when reload the page on the phone, it is getting the new one. It seems like it isn't - even when I "Clear the Cache" and then "Reload". Has anyone else seen this on the 6010? |

6010 can't be compared with this phone. for 6010 the package size is 64k but on this phone i've installed app around 125k. maximum i think is 128k.. try send it via infrared...see what happens

clearing the cache on many devices can be and is difficult, on top of it, I have seen the WAP gateways cache data, sometimes it seems the only way to get non-cached data, is to change the jad/jars file name(s)
also always be sure to close the application(browser) if possible as this on some devices seems to clear memory or temp files, when in doubt, reboot! Jason Glass http://IChiBanComputers.Com |
