I can get a connection between 3com connection manager and the 7650, and can succesfully send and receive files, images etc. But when I try to setup mrouter using COM5 (the serial host as per connection manager) I get the error "unable to open port". There are no other apps running except connection manager. This error comes up on all com ports when I select them (except 123). Anyone any ideas? This is getting frustrating!

Are you really shure that your 3com adapter is using COM5?

In BlueTooth Connection Manager (blue icon in task bar) select tools -> Com port -> select 3Com Bluetooth Serial Client (Com5) click on modify select your phone and click Ok normally connection manager should see your phone.
