Hi..

Can anyone from Nokia give me a detail description of all the Hard And Soft wares needed for progamming the BT of 7650 and downloading that program into the 7650? As far I know, I will require 7650, Connectivity CArd DTL-4, SDK for series 60, WinNT, Win2000 .IS this complete?

Another question, In the 7650 or the Series 60 phones, is there any restriction on Developing BT applications for developers outside Nokia? Or is it restrictd only to Nokia and theoretically and practically outside developers cannot do this?

Please visit Bluetooth Documents section

and download the document 'Setting up and using Bluetooth testing environment for Series 60 Platform' to get further information on software and hardware requirements.

Forum Nokia has been established to enable 3rd party application development on Nokia phones. There are no restrictions on who is allowed to create applications. The tools are free. We also provide documents and technical support, and possibilities for Nokia OK testing and sales channels.

We have already demonstrated two 3rd party Bluetooth demos for Nokia 7650 at Bluetooth Developer Congress in Amsterdam in June 2002: a multiplayer game 'Geopod' by Fathammer and a wireless accessory device for showing presentations from phone called 'Irma Bluetooth' by Flander Ltd. These two demos give a picture of what kind of Bluetooth applications are possible for Series 60 phones.

For me, the process of compiling and testing the BT-app is faster when downloading it to the actual device than restarting and running the app in the emulator. I.e. I'm fine without using the Connectivity Card, necessary for emulating BT. For some reason it takes ages to restart the emulator on my (two different) Win2000 machines.
