Hi i'm a newbie at canvas class.

I notice that in MIDP 1.0 NOKIA Phones, whenever you try to display canvas, the entire screen is not used. The upper portion of the phone is used to display the MIDlet name while remaining portion of the screen for the canvas. Is there a way to eliminate this problem? I want o display my canvas using the WHOLE screen. I know in MIDP 2.0, there is a command to do so, the setFullScreenMode. But what about in MIDP 1.0? Thanks!

In MIDP 1.0 devices try using Nokia specific com.nokia.mid.ui.FullCanvas instead of Canvas.

Hi Balagkopalks,

Whenever i try to import com.nokia.mid.ui.FullCanvas, the following error message appears.

package com.nokia.mid.ui does not exist
import com.nokia.mid.ui.FullCanvas;

I think my WTK (2.2) doesn't support it. Where can i download the package? I hope it still exists!!! Lastly, please give me some instructions on how to integrate it to WTK. Thanks in advance!

If you are using SUN WTK, you have to copy the desired Nokia device's emulator from the devices folder(for eg: C:\Nokia\Devices) of the SDK and paste it in the C:\WTK23\wtklib\devices folder.
Now restart the WTK and the newly copied Nokia emulator will be displayed in the devices list of WTK. Select the Nokia emulator, Build and Create package with Nokia emulator selected and you can easily run your Nokia apps with this new emulator.
So that u can work on Nokia emulator through WTK.
