on the nokia site it's claimed:
"You can connect the Nokia 7650 to a compatible Bluetooth-enabled PC to download e-mail, browse the Internet, send faxes or synchronise the calendar and contacts data." can someone explain how I can 'download e-mail & browse the Internet' please. I can send faxes and synchronise the calendar and contacts data but can't work out how to do the email & browsing bit. Help appreciated, Fred, UK. |

It means that you can use the phone as a GSM modem (over CSD/HSCSD/GPRS) to use a web browser or an email program on the PC.
The Bluetooth profile used in this use case is Dial-Up Networking Profile (DUN). To use HSCSD or GPRS, you need to have those services have to activated by your operator on your SIM. Firstly, you need to define an internet access point (from your operator or from your employer or just any of available IAP providers). And to download email you need to have an email account (to use an email client program or a web-based email). -Seppo |
