hi all,
i just got a N91 to play with (seriously to make some prototype like apps for an exhibition using this phones) and recognized that there are no python binaries for this plattform. is there a plan to release binaries anytime soon? is it hard to compile python from sources with SDK S60 3rd Edition?

pyS60 for 3rd edition is under development. I cannot promise any specific dates.

I'm also eagerly awaiting the release of Python for S60 3rd Edition. It would be nice to get some more information from Nokia than "it's coming, can't tell you when".

Is there an internal target release date, or is there some hold-up that could last an indefinite amount of time? If the former, could you give an indication or range of when the release is expected? If the latter, is it a technical problem, waiting on a 3rd party, or something else?

I know there's a tendency for companies to work in secrecy-by-default mode, but given that Nokia is trying to create a platform for 3rd party developers, it might make sense to be a little more open.

The Forum Nokia site specifies: "Python support for S60 3rd Edition will be available in the second half of 2006."
This means any time between now and Dec 31st

Knowing that I waited ~ 3 extra months for the E70 to be released ...
