I've created a sourceforge project for a little app I've been running on my phone for a while.
The original aim was just to get my phone to beep at me when my train got close to my station, but it now does a bit more than that: sends sms messages when you get to specific cell towers, tells you how late your train is running, Guido's clock. You can find the project here: http://anorak.sourceforge.net/ Eventually, I'd like to include uploading of train (or other public transport) locations to a web site, so others can use the site (and a phone) to see whether the trains are running on time. |

Excellent application dude. I just started loving this application. I was trying to extend the application too, but couldn't find the proper info.
Here is what I wanted to do. There is already a "Display Cell Info" option on the phone which displays the area name(in my case. btw, I'm in Chennai, India) of the cell phone tower. If I can get this info then there is no need for me to even enter descriptions for cell IDs that I encounter. The app in this case will automatically populate the location description for each cell id instead of the user editing it everytime he encounters a new tower. BTW, I'm a newbie to Python and mobile programming. Thank you for the excellent application ![]() - Madhu |

![]() Currently there are no modules in pys60 that can fetch the cell info display text. Positioning can be a better option then cellid but you need to have a gps device in that case ![]() Best Regards Croozeus |
