I'm looking at implementing an l2cap based service on S60, and for simplicity's sake I'd like to prototype it in Python. Checking the API docs suggests that bluetooth_advertise_service only provides RFCOMM and OBEX profiles - is there any way of obtaining an l2cap socket with my own uuid?

Not with the current socket module.
