Have any of you tried to access the Nokia 5500 3D Accelerometer?
Is it possible from J2ME? I have heard there is a game using this, but I do not know if it is in java or not. Thanx in advance Rgds Sandor |

It is not possible to access the accelerometer from Java on 5500. The JavaOne demos were done using a special software build on 5500 phone.

It being a year later, I just wondered if the 5500's firmware has been updated sufficiently to allow J2ME to access the accelerometer.

Sadly, no. The Sony-Ericsson K850 (scheduled to start shipping in January) will provide accelerometer access via JSR-256. That's the only JSR-256 implementation that I know of so far.

Lawman, Nokia is not adding new APIs on the phones with firmware versions. So the answer is as AnthonyAndrews wrote.
