Hi friends,
I am developing an application in J2ME. I have a Nokia-e61 device. I am strucked at the following issues. 1) Can we launch a symbian app. from J2ME app? 2) Our application uses socket & UDP connections. When the user changes the app-preferences, the app closes all connections and will open them again. Because of this the device is asking to "select access point" many times. This is irritaing us very much. Using J2ME, Can we find "The Access Point" & use it for the application? Please help me in solving the above problems. Thanks & Regards, Ravi |

1) No. Unless you first write another Symbian app/server to launch other Symbian apps, and then open a socket to that server and ask it to launch whatever Symbian app you want launched.

hi Ravi,
#1 I wonder if there is something similiar to "push" (PushRegistry) on Symbian so we can send socket ping from java into specific port to start registered c++ app, Ideas? #2 nope, there is no access to APN (access point configurations) from java, that can be done in Symbian C++ application, hth, regards, Peter |
