Hi guys,

I have a problem with my jar signing permissions.
I got my certificate, imported it to my keystore (using the java keytool), and signed the application (using netbeans 5). I specified the API permissions in the jar properties (HTTP, PIM).
As expected, I don't get the "application not trusted" warning anymore when installing the jar. But, I still get a security question while using services like HTTP in my app ("allow app to..."). This occurs although I specified the API permissions in the properties.

Can anyone help here?

Thanks in advance,
Alon

Signed midlets do not by default get the "always allowed" access to the network methods (or any other function groups). You have to change the settings manually.

If you are using S60 the settings can be changed through Application Manager. On Series 40 phones the settings can be found in the Options menu, when the midlet is selected in the application view.

Thanks (a lot) for your reply.

I'm working on S60 (6680, to be specific). I browsed the options in the Application Manager->Suite Settings, but in the following sections: Network Access, App auto-start (and some more) the option "Always Allowed" was not even shown (there were only three other options: "Not Allowed", "Ask Every Time", "Ask first time").

I'm really looking forward to solve this.

Thanks in advance,
Alon

Signing in some Nokia S60 2nd Edition does not make sense except for JSR-75. Nothing changes, neither defaults nor do you get new permissons.

You would need operator or Nokia security level.
