i'm trying to put a progress indicator in alert of S60 3rd edition emulator. I got an exception "illegal state exception". In nokia forum i found that in S60 2nd Edition
("http://forum.nokia.com/Technical_Library/FNTL/Gauge_doesn_t_work_in_Alert_as_a_progress_indicator.htm") it is a reported bug. Is it applicable to S60 3rd edition devices also?

hi,

I've used Gauge in Alert in 6680 device (s602ndEdFp2) with success (it shows rss feed xml parsing process progress), maybe it was fixed with firmware upgrade, not yet tested my s603rded device (could do that later),
that technote is not about runtime exception you're getting, so its rather it could be code related issue (speaking about real devices in mind),
