Hi..

I have seen numerous posts asking this question, but no answers.. could someone please set the record straight on this?

My understanding is that you can write C++ code to launch a new app (if u know the app's UID) and then use JNI from pJava to invoke the C++ dll. This seems awfully complicated to me..

Does System.exec("xyz") not accomplish the same thing? I have not been able to get it to work.. but havent ruled out user error :)

While on the subject, I know that MIDP 0.9 does not support any such capability(nor was it meant to), but it seems awfully strange for the new phones to support only MIDP (and not pJava.. for eg, the 6650 or the 7650) given that it is a weaker environment to build applications..
