This has been asked before on the forum, but I haven't seen an answer.
I want to be able to play pretty long video (3gp) files on much of the phones that support video(the files would be as long as possible). For the moment I'm not interested in streaming, so I guess the only option is downloading and playing the file on the phone, right? Supposing I meet all the requirements ( audio/frame size/fps/bitrate etc...) how large my files can be? Is there a size limitation ( specific to each device or not) ? Where can I find those limitations or how can I figure them out ? Is there any "generic maximum video file size" that will work on most of the phones?

Try this document, hope it helps a bit.
or search document: MIDP_Mobile_Media_API_Support_In_Nokia_Devices_v1_0_en.pdf http://americas.forum.nokia.com/info..._0_en.pdf.html |

Thanks, but the document refers to MIDP, and even for the midp case, it's not specified the size of the file that can be downloaded/played in the midlet. (and in any case, I'm interested in the phone's player, don't want to play the videos from a midlet).
The question remains: 3gp video files on phones, how large can they be? |
