Nokia 6111 cant play wav or amr files -

I am trying to play wav files on a Nokia 6111. It doesn't work at all if you call
Manager.createPlayer(is, "audio/x-wav") I followed the tips in the Nokia document and changed it to: Manager.createPlayer(is, "audio/wav") and now it half works. I have 2 wav files, both with identical settings (8-bit unsigned PCM 8kHz, created with Audacity). One wav file is .4 seconds and plays, but it sounds nothing like it should sound. The other is .6 seconds and throws a media exception "device errror" when I try to play. Does anyone success getting wav file to play on the 6111? I also tried converting the file to AMR, buit that doesn't work either
