hi all,
stoping a MMAPI player on 6233 causes a MediaException with message "device error"!?! same binaries work fine on 6270!
I stop the player this way:
try
{
if(player.getState() == Player.STARTED)
player.stop();
}
catch(Exception e)
{ here the exception is caught }

can anyone (preferably some nokia guy) please tell me what causes this Exception.

does other generic player implementation (no while/no yields/etc) work on that device? (preferably with single player implementation)

at first thanx a lot for your answer and please excuse my late reply, I had some urgent stuff to do...

to your question:
I tried various things to get it work.
- one player-object for all sounds
- a new player object for every new sound
- whithout while
- without yield
- without stop, just closing (working on 6233)

nothing works...

Believe it or not, I got this same strange behaviour for Nokia 6280 -- it happened when I attempted to display the viewfinder.

To my surprise, the "Device Error" exception happened just because the phone was low in battery -- state in which the camera cannot be turned on, even trough the device's camera app.

Nokia guys, please don't drive us all crazy with such enigmatic and generic hints... I bet this single change in posture would save hundreds and hundreds of man/hour workforce all over the world...
