Hi all,

i have some problem with PIM API
When i use countValues(Contact.TEL) it create some problem. i think it is due to genaral number problem. Is It?....

Any idea about how how to avoid this problem?....

Hey,
it will be better if u can send the exact problem u r facing with ur appplication.

generally ur application needs to be a trusted application or signed application to access PIM methods, coz these methods deal with phone database directly.

chek it out once,

Hi ,

my application add and edits numbers in Phone books.
and i test my application on Nokia 7360.

So when i try to count numbers for a perticular contact,it gives Application Error.

I think it is because of the bug

Any idea about how to avoid this?....
because PIM API does not support General numbers.

I also want to know that using PIM API can we edit the numbers already stored by user or only that numbers which are added using PIM API Application.......

hi praaven,

just from reading:

If a contact with a general number is added by using the PIM API, then the general number can be accessed.

it probably means that if you open (manage to open) a contact or create new contact and add a phone number field it will be visible for PIM api, otherwise not,
having no S40 device I never tested that or though about different solution (say usually contacts has name or surname, how we can lists contacts)
