Hi,

I have a couple of MP4 files that were deleted from my N73's mini SD card. I have tried several "undelete" programs to recover them and several have produced a file but none that will play in any player I have tried.
Does anyone know either:-
a. How I can successfully undelete these files from an SD card
or
b. Know of a way to repair a corrupt MP4 file.

Any help would be greatly appreciated here. I have been messing around with this for over a week now.

Maybe you can play it, because it was corrupt before deleting, so undelete was "successfully".

I also have some broken file. It's from MDA Compact, corupted because of not enough space on card.

If it's contain AMR sound track, you can use some AMR2WAV Converter. Then open wav in some editor like Cool Edit, every minute or two you can hear 5 seconds of sound track. Spectral view is useful for quicker finding that sequences.

I try to study structure of mp4/3gp files, but it's hard to find good desription (like ITU T.81 for JPEG).

In header on position '1C' just between 'isom' and 'mdat' should be 4 byte number, which is distance from 'mdat' and 'moov' (the footer). Corrupt file often have there only zeroes ('00 00 00 00').
