I have a nokia 6265i. Well it's my boyfriends. He would like some new themes on it, I have the data cable to transfer them, but I cannot get that far. I download one that I like to my computer and then it says unable to open, most of them are either .nth or .sis, is there something that I need to do to before transferring them? Please help me!!

Have you tried with installing directly on your cell phone?
Your device 6265i is Series 40 3rd Edition.

I don't own 6265i but one of my "friends" has Nokia 5300(Series 40 3rd Edition, Feature Pack 2). I successfully downloaded .nth file in his mobile and it worked like a charm.
So you can give it a try. Install in on your phone directly.

PS: You won't be able to install .Sis file on your device(6265i).
