Polyphonic Ringing tone in Smart Messaging Specification 3.0.0 -

In the Smart Messaging Specification 3.0.0 there is a Song Type Encoding value for polyphonic ringing tone. How are pholyphonic ringing tones encoded and which phones support it?

The polyphonic song type has been added for the future extensions. Today there is no syntax for polyphonic ringing tone and there are no phones which support it.

Yup, huckFin's right. The polyphonic extension, and even the multi-frame and colour OTA bitmap capability, seem to have been added as a 'just-in-case' kind of thing in the smart msging spec.
However, current the technology trend seems to be to push the delivery of these more 'advanced' content to MMS/WAP, so it seems unlikely that these extensions will ever be further defined or implemented. |
