Python for S60 1.3.17 is now available for download at SourceForge:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...roup_id=154155 (1.3.16 was just an internal build, in case you are wondering...) This release is for both 2nd and 3rd edition devices. As mentioned before, we no longer actively support 1st edition, but if someone is interested in making 1st edition builds of PyS60, then just get the source and go ahead. This release includes improved access point selection support, added documentation for GLES and a few bug fixes. Consult the release notes for more details: http://sourceforge.net/project/shown...ease_id=477768 This release is the same as 1.3.11 in that ***you need to install both the PythonforS60 _and_ the PythonScriptShell package to get the same functionality as before on 2nd edition. *** This is still a work in progress so bug reports, patches and feature requests are welcomed in the usual places: Bugs: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?grou...55&atid=790646 Patches: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?grou...55&atid=790648 Feature requests:http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?grou...55&atid=790649 When filing bugs, include the device you used, its firmware version (you can see this by entering *#0000# in the idle screen), the PyS60 version and a minimal test case (if applicable). Stay tuned for the next release, and happy hacking!

Guys,
Very well done The viewfinder was one thing the API was definitely missing! I just tried it and it is very impressive... That will for sure give more credibility to your applications since for example most of the guys around me were disappointed by the camera performances and put PyS60 behind Java for that reason. I'm looking forward to check the source and check if there's an easy way or undocumented functions/options to set flash, zoom, exposure, white balance, position while running the view finder. Or is it coming in a next release??? Keep on the good work LFD Devices: Nokia E61 3rd Edition - pys60 1.4.0 Tips and modules: http://www.lfdm.net/thesis

Hi all
A quick question from a newbie to Python for S60 (done Python on desktops for quite a while, though...). I installed the latest Python on my Nokia N80. It is installed, but where can I access it? The there is no icon in the My Own menu and nowhere else, either. Where do I need to look? Do I need to install anything else besides PythonForS60_1_3_17_3rdEd_selfsigned.SIS??? Cannot find any clues in the docs. Thanks for your help Andre |

Oh dear, "PythonScriptShell_1_3_17_3rdEd_selfsigned.SIS" is the answer. Sorry guys... Time to get started now!
