I downloaded the zip, uncompressed, and executed setup.exe
The app runs the 'installanywhere' decompressor, gets to 100% and closes. In the process takes ~50mb off my HDD. I've rebooted and tried this several times, and can't get anywhere. Anything I could be missing? Any suggestions? I am running: WinXP, SP2, P4 3.0, 2gb ram, 100mb HDD. Thanks, PT |

Hi thesquadphil! Welcome to Nokia Discussion Boards!!
![]() Please check whether there is a link of Nokia Multimedia Converter2.0 in your Windows menu :: Start >>Programs/All Programs >> Nokia Developer Tools >> Nokia Multimedia Converter2.0. If not, search whether there is a file named "MMConverter.exe" in your PC. For me that file is here :: C:\Nokia\Tools\Nokia_Multimedia_Converter_2_0\MMConverter.exe and it works fine and the total installation size is 6,572,566 bytes If still you have trouble, try uninstalling NMC 2.0 and reinstall it again(May be try downloading a fresh copy of installer from Forum Nokia) Regards Gopal __________________ MobiQuil.com An initiative by Developers for Developers. http://www.mobiquil.com - Alpha - Launched. |

Thanks for getting back to me..
I checked my system and cannot find the MMConverter.exe file. It seems as though the installer program is not uncompressing the files correctly. I have redownloaded the files several times and also closed any open apps during the install process. None of which have helped any. Any ideas would be helpful. This is getting fusterating! Thanks! In which directory are you installing Multimedia converter?
Is it some thing like "C:\Nokia\Tools\Nokia_Multimedia_Converter_2_0\" Please let us know what all are the files listed under "Nokia_Multimedia_Converter_2_0\" directory. Hope your PC meets with the minimum requirements for Multimedia converter. Here is the thing, there is no install directory because the uncompression program running inside of 'InstallAnywhere' is not working right I guess.
I have checked my system and nowhere is there any Nokia directory. Every time I run the setup.exe program around 50mb gets used on my hard disk. This tells me that the installanyware program is putting the install files in a system temp directory but not fully executing the setup program post uncompression. My machine fully complies with the recommended system requirements to run this program. I'm convinced it has to be some conflict with another app on my system. I'm not running any special 3rd party apps that manage installed applications, or crazy system security apps. Any idea what could be causing this? I really need this app to run! Thanks, Phil |

If possible, give a try installing the same Multimedia Converter installer in a different PC, to make sure that there is no problem with the installer.

Do you have any Anti Virus programs running, it is a good chance that is the problem. Make sure you have full priviliges if you are on a network too.

The tool is really old and not maintained anymore. Is there really any feature that you expect to find in this tool and for which you cannot find a more up-to-date converter from a 3rd party provider?
